Josh Honea
Josh Honea is the man behind the mix. He is an innovative entertainer who has been DJing all over the upstate of South Carolina and beyond since 2009. While he may keep it funky fresh behind the DJ booth, there is more than meets the eye with guy. Here are a few things to give you the 411 on Sandstorm’s frontman:
1. He's a bowtie guy. No lie bro, he's a bow tie bro! Honea currently has over 45 bow ties in his collection!
2. He's got degrees. Honea currently has two degrees. A Bachelor's of Science in Family and Consumer Science from Winthrop University and a Master's of Education in Counselor Education (Student Affairs) from Clemson University.
3. He's one of the only deaf-blind DJs in the world! No lie--he has half of his vision, half his sight, and keeps it 100! (Apparently, the other deaf blind DJ is located in England.
4. He's a music producer. On the side, he produces hip-hop instrumentals and promotional music for marketing. He also works with several recording artists.
5. He's a sucker for shoes. Yep, Honea loves his footwear. His top brands are PF Flyers, Thursday Boots, and Sebagos.
6. He's a YouTuber! Remember when we mentioned that he was deaf-blind? Well, we weren't lying and Honea has launched his own YouTube channel, The EnVision Vlog, where he talks about his experiences as a deaf-blind person and DJ.

So where does that leave us now? Several years after its founding, Sandstorm is still doing big things. Sandstorm has moved its way back upstate, settling headquarters in Fort Mill, SC. Honea has stayed true to his roots regarding entertainment and is always expanding on ideas. Since relocating to Fort Mill, Sandstorm has placed a large focus on the wedding industry, adding a more suit-and-tie vibe of professionalism to the party. Currently, Sandstorm spans across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia, supporting the mission of the providing people with the highest grade of professional entertainment at the most affordable price. As always, everyone is calm, before the ‘storm!
Sandstorm DJing Service was an entertainment label created by entertainer and innovator, Josh Honea, of Walhalla, SC. Originally labeled as Zephyr-J DJing Service, Honea’s unique style of performance blended DJing and dance to create an energy-packed show that audiences couldn’t get enough of. After DJing a few high school military balls in the Oconee County area, Honea picked up the DJing alias “Sergeant Sandstorm” and a permanent name change etched Sandstorm DJing Service into history.
Sandstorm DJing Service saw its growth with Honea’s move to college. While at Winthrop University, Sandstorm marketed towards clubs and organizations with a focus to provide professional and formal entertainment that competed with the DJs in the college party scene. Sandstorm was considered to be one of the most recommended DJing Services among Greek Life and Campus Programming due to its affordability and professional service. Sandstorm eventually saw its move into two states, completing gigs in Charlotte and with Honea’s relocation to Clemson, Sandstorm expanded its reach across college entertainment market.
